I am a textile artist from South Carolina who now resides in Ulricehamn, a small town in western Sweden. The picture to the left is one of my felted creations. I work a create deal in felt as well as making Art Quilts, doll clothing and some items for home decor.
The phrase "It's Bug Art Man! It's Bug Art!" is a take-off on a line from a famous science-fiction film. Kudos to all who figure-out which film! I get a great deal of my inspiration from the natural world, especially when hiking with my dog in the woods and fields behind my apartment complex. Therefore my first show, in 2002, contained several references to insects and spiders. Since then I have always added a bug in some form to every Art Quilt I make.
This started as an idea for a simple, one-time show and now is growing exponentially! At the moment I am planning a show with four main components:
1. Dolls and doll-making as a form of art therapy;
2. Dolls as a teaching tool for passing-on our cultural heritage;
3. Dolls as a form of resistance;
4. Make-your-own-doll workshop;
